Overview

The Char Dham Yatra is one of the most sacred pilgrimages in India, covering four highly revered Himalayan shrines—Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath—which hold immense spiritual significance in Hinduism.

This complete pilgrimage is a 10-day journey, during which devotees not only perform Darshan at all four Dhams but also enjoy major sightseeing attractions along the route, making the journey spiritually enriching as well as scenic.

Itinerary

Yamunotri – Gangotri – Kedarnath – Badrinath (Ex-Haridwar)


Day 01: Haridwar – Barkot

Distance: 180 km | Travel Time: Approx. 6 hours

Your sacred journey begins with pickup from Haridwar / Rishikesh / Dehradun Airport. Drive towards Barkot, enjoying scenic views en route. Visit Mussoorie and Kempty Falls along the way.
On arrival at Barkot, check in to the hotel. Rest of the day is free.
Overnight stay: Barkot


Day 02: Barkot – Janki Chatti – Yamunotri – Barkot

Distance: 90 km | Travel Time: 8–9 hours

After early breakfast, drive to Janki Chatti, the starting point of the 6 km trek to Yamunotri.
You may trek on foot or hire a pony or doli (at own cost).

At Yamunotri, take a holy dip in Surya Kund (hot spring) and perform Darshan & Pooja at Yamunotri Temple and Divya Shila.
Return to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot.

Day 03: Barkot – Uttarkashi

Distance: 100 km | Travel Time: Approx. 4 hours

After breakfast, check out and drive to Uttarkashi. En route, visit Shiv Gufa (Shri Prakateshwar Panchanan Mahadev Temple).
On arrival, check in to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight stay: Uttarkashi


Day 04: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi

Distance: 100 km | Travel Time: Approx. 8 hours

After breakfast, proceed for Gangotri Darshan. Enjoy breathtaking views of Harsil Valley en route.
At Gangotri, visit Gangotri Mata Temple and offer prayers.

Return to Uttarkashi and visit the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple, located on the banks of the Bhagirathi River.

Day 05: Uttarkashi – Sitapur / Phata / Guptkashi

Distance: 220 km | Travel Time: Approx. 9 hours

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Sitapur / Phata / Guptkashi (subject to hotel availability).
On arrival, check in to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight stay: Sitapur / Phata / Guptkashi


Day 06: Sitapur / Phata / Guptkashi – Kedarnath

Early morning drive to Sonprayag (vehicle access till here). From Sonprayag, take a local jeep to Gaurikund (5 km, direct payment basis).

From Gaurikund, begin the trek to Kedarnath (approx. 16 km). You may choose to trek, or hire pony, doli, or helicopter (at own cost).

Upon arrival, perform Darshan and Pooja at Shri Kedarnath Temple.
Check in at GMVN Bhawan / Dormitory near the temple (100–500 meters radius).
Overnight stay: Kedarnath


Day 07: Kedarnath – Sitapur / Phata / Guptkashi

Early morning, check out and trek down to Gaurikund. From there, take a local jeep to Sonprayag, then drive back to Sitapur / Phata / Guptkashi.
On arrival, check in to the hotel.
Overnight stay: Sitapur / Phata / Guptkashi


Day 08: Sitapur / Phata / Guptkashi – Badrinath

Distance: 210 km | Travel Time: Approx. 8–9 hours

After breakfast, drive to Badrinath, en route visiting the scenic hill station Chopta.
On arrival, check in to the hotel. Evening Aarti at Shri Badrinath Temple (subject to time).
Overnight stay: Badrinath


Day 09: Badrinath – Pipalkoti / Karanprayag

After bathing in Tapt Kund, visit Shri Badrinath Temple.
Visit Brahma Kapal for ancestral rituals (Pind Daan). Sightseeing includes Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Mata Murti Temple, Bhim Kund, and the origin of the Saraswati River.

Later, drive towards Pipalkoti / Karanprayag, visiting Panch Prayag en route.
Check in to the hotel.
Overnight stay: Pipalkoti / Karanprayag


Day 10: Pipalkoti / Karanprayag – Haridwar

Distance: 100 km | Travel Time: Approx. 6 hours

After breakfast, check out and drive to Haridwar. En route, visit Maa Dhari Devi Temple, Devprayag, and Rishikesh.
Drop at Haridwar / Rishikesh / Dehradun Airport or Railway Station as per your departure plan.
